Expanding Your Concept of Self

You are what you think you are. So look at yourself. How do you see yourself?

What are the beliefs you hold about who you are, what you can do, and cannot?

Can you see how those play out within your life, and in that picture you see looking back at you from the mirror?

Your life is the expression of that image you hold. What you see is what you get, so to speak. If you see yourself with limitations, your life will play out that way.

Now, the question is, how can you expand your concept of what you think you are?

Which self do you see?

Try to see yourself as creator of your life and the experiences it brings. Why have you chosen them? What are they bringing you? Where can your soul use them on its evolutionary journey?

Can you change how you experience the life you’re living to see it as more than you are getting now? Can you see it in a bigger picture, helping to create not only your challenges but the opportunities they offer?

As you expand how you see and experience your life, you indirectly also expand how you see yourself — opening yourself up to get more from what it’s already bringing, as well as opening the door to new and grander possibilities to come.

That doesn’t mean you won’t still have challenges. Only that you’ll see them as something more than frustrating experiences you don’t enjoy. You’ll begin to look forward to what they show you about how you are, and allow you to expand what you see so you can evolve into something more.

With this new perspective, go back to the mirror and take another look. What can you see now?
